Description: Starting something new can fill us with excitement and anxiety.
These feelings are very real for our laboratory students. Knowing this, the speaker always encourages an open dialogue with students, teachers, and any laboratory professional they meet. These impressionable minds love hearing about the good, the bad, and the mundane of laboratory work. For some, these stories will inspire, but for others, they will help ease anxiety.
As educators, our jobs go beyond the textbooks. We have immense pride and passion about our work and through sharing our experiences and feelings, we can ignite this in our future laboratory professionals. Let’s talk about the benefits of these conversations, the stimulation of inquisitive minds, and the beneficial mental health implications!
