Description: Since early 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted virtually every aspect of life around the world. Manitoba was not spared having experienced numerous waves. Considerable debate around the utility of diagnostics for SARS-CoV-2 (RT-PCR and rapid antigen tests) in the management of the pandemic took place. Laboratory based testing was also instrumental in assessing spread of COVID-19 in Manitoba including monitoring variants of concern (VOC). Numerous public health interventions were employed throughout the pandemic including vaccination, social distancing and masks. In this webinar, we will review the evidence around these intertwined facets of the public health response to COVID-19.
