Speaker: Nicole L. Prokopishyn PhD

Nicole is the director of the Cellular Therapy Laboratory in Calgary, the processing facility for the Alberta BMT Program, providing services for adult and pediatric transplants and cellular therapy. Nicole received her PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Saskatchewan in 1997 and spent 5 years in Houston and 5 years in Philadelphia working on development of gene editing technologies in blood stem cells for treatment of sickle cell disease and hemophilia.  Nicole returned to Canada in 2007, took the director role combining her expertise in quality assurance with a passion for treatment of patients using transplant and cellular therapy.
