Description: An informal, low-stress, and interactive workshop where we openly discuss the basics of gender diversity and the specific considerations that may apply to gender diverse people. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn and ask questions in a safe, judgment-free environment and will leave feeling comfortable and confident in providing gender affirming care.

Speakers: B Adair and Julie Coffey
B Adair (he/him) is a Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) consultant from rural Central Alberta. As a gay & transgender man, B passionately provides community and workplace inclusivity training and is an advocate for queer healthcare, neurodiversity and mental health awareness. It’s B’s dream to break down barriers, destroy stereotypes ensure ALL people have access to appropriate care.
Julie Coffey (she/her) is Director of Accreditation and Education for the Institute for Quality Management in Healthcare. She is an active member of ISO TC 212 and serves on the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) Expert Panel on Quality Systems. Most importantly, she is on a quest to elevate the confidence of laboratory personnel in their own abilities by providing empowering, relevant and interactive education.
