About this item

An estimated 20–50% of all testing is inappropriately ordered, resulting in wasted money, misdirected clinical effort, increased workload and the potential for patient harm.

The Lab Wisely initiative empowers medical laboratory professionals to make wise choices to help protect lab resources and patients.

Collaboratively with the University of Alberta, CSMLS created Lab Wisely, including a list of 7 recommendations to guide appropriate lab testing utilization.
