  • Describe what is involved in the implementation a Point of Care program
  • Evaluate the benefits and risks of implementing Point of Care
  • Identify the crucial role of MLTs in Point of Care Programs

 

Speaker: Dannielle Caruk, MLT, BSc.

Dannielle graduated from the University of Manitoba with a BSc., majoring in Microbiology, and attended Red River College in Winnipeg for Medical Laboratory Sciences, eventually becoming a certified MLT. Dannielle worked as a General Duty Technologist in a rural core lab, an urban Biochemistry Lab, and is now the Point of Care Testing Specialist for Shared Health Manitoba, focusing on Manitoba’s Point of Care Pilot Project, in partnership with First Nations and Inuit Health Branch, and the Kidney Check Program – a Canada-wide kidney health screening project.
