Description: The first days in a new position are critical because small differences in actions can have a huge impact on long-term results. It is even more challenging when those first days are in a position of leadership and influence. This informal presentation will provide a learning experience that will assist participants in understanding what leadership is all about, and what to do in your first 90 days to increase your likelihood of success and workplace joy. This foundational learning on great leadership that can also be used by informal leaders and independent contributors.

Speaker: Christine Bruce, MLT, MHA, CHE
As a multi-faceted senior leader in Canadian laboratories, Christine has spent her 25 year career leading laboratory services delivery across the industry. She serves as the Senior Director for the Laboratory Medicine Program and as the Academic Strategic Lead for the MLS portfolio at Michener Institute at the University Health Network in Toronto ON.
Christine has held varied positions in areas of innovation, business development, operations management, and quality, where she has demonstrated a special talent for imagineering solutions to improve and expand laboratory testing, while championing creating sustainable workforces and great places to work.
A MLT since 1997, Christine also holds a Master’s in Health Administration, a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, and Clinical Laboratory Quality Manager certification. Christine was recently awarded the Gaman J. Modi Award of Excellence, a St. Lawrence College Honorary Diploma, and was nominated for the 2021 Premiers Award for trailblazing Ontario college graduates in the Health Sciences category. By 2025 she hopes to have completed her Doctorate in Business Administration.
