Description: This webinar will focus on droplet digital PCR. We will introduce the technique and then analyze the benefits and drawbacks compared to both conventional and quantitative PCR. The application of this technique for liquid biopsy sampling will be discussed as we analyze a lung cancer case from sample collection to reporting. This webinar is appropriate for medical laboratory professionals with all levels of genetics knowledge, as attendees will be provided with sufficient background during the webinar.

Jean-Paul (J-P) Nadeau is a Molecular Genetics Technologist at the University Health Network’s Genome Diagnostics Laboratory. He is a graduate of The Michener Institute at UHN’s Genetics Technology program and also holds both a Master of Science in Microbiology and Immunology and an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science, both from the University of Ottawa. J-P is passionate about education, having previously presented an interprofessional presentation at LABCON, and having previously won both the CSMLS Dave Behring Leadership Development Scholarship, and CSMLS Leaders of Tomorrow grant. J-P is also appointed with The Michener Institute of Education at UHN as a clinical adjunct professor and clinical coordinator.
