We’ll broadcast expert-led sessions to you so you can earn continuing education hours from the comfort of your home or lab.

Session 1: 11:15 - 11:45 ET
Championing Women's and Girl's Health
Healthy women are the cornerstones of healthy economies and societies. But women’s health rarely gets the attention that it deserves. By paying more attention to women’s health and working together to address key issues, we can improve women’s lives and realize social and economic progress worldwide. To accomplish this, we needed robust data on women’s health, and the ability to benchmark and track it.

Session 2: 12:30 - 13:30 ET
Evolution of genital Specimens: From conventional methods of testing to NAAT
Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is a common cause of vaginal discharge. Conventional methods have relied on insensitive bedside testing or laboratory techniques that are labor intensive. Laboratories across the country are struggling with a human resource crisis requiring us to look at ways to improve process to allow for redeployment of limited staff to other areas. Newer Nucleic Acid Amplification (NAAT) methods are available for detecting the case of vaginitis which have better sensitivity and offer a number of advantages for improving laboratory process. This talk will review these methods, the potential benefits and the considerations a laboratory should make when implementing them.

Session 3: 13:45 - 14:45 ET
Supporting Yourself in Stressful Times
Women are often the first to help others in their lives, such as family members, friends, and colleagues, but struggle to support themselves during stressful times. For example, experiencing treatment for cancer can impact you physically and emotionally but often the emotional and mental symptoms are minimized. This workshop aims to assist you in learning about emotional wellbeing and types of stress while experiencing cancer treatment. Participants will also develop strategies that they may use during stressful times. Additionally, information about self-kindness and self-compassion will be reviewed with examples.
