Description: Recognizing that Allied Health Education continues to undergo rapid and unprecedented change, there is a need for practitioners within the field to consider their role in educating eventual practitioners of their profession. This session challenges some preconceived notions of what it means to be an educator and calls attendees to reflect on how they are impacting the future of their chosen discipline through their day-to-day conduct.

Speaker: Sheldon Bailey, RDMS, CRGS
As a certified and registered generalist Sonographer, Sheldon has spent the last 14 years working in both the public and private sectors, eventually coming to specialize in high-risk obstetric sonography and Maternal Fetal ultrasound. Sheldon has since transitioned into the world of higher education, working to support Canada's intellectual health as an educational administrator. Amidst his academic pursuits, being a husband to a devoted wife and father to four lovely children, Sheldon remains active in the community through his involvement with several organizations including BORN Ontario, and EQual Accreditation Canada.
An Author, Motivational Speaker, and founder of Surge Coaching & Support Services, Sheldon enjoys collaborating with others to make a difference in health science education. He holds a Diploma in Diagnostic Medical Radiography, a Graduate Diploma in Diagnostic Ultrasound from the Michener Institute, a Master of Education Degree from the University of Ottawa and is presently a Doctoral candidate at the Western University.
