Description: Blood film microscopic examination trails only the complete blood count (CBC) in frequency in the hematology laboratory. The IQMH Hematology Scientific Committee conducted a Patterns of Practice survey in 2017 of participating laboratories to gather information about reporting practices for manual blood film review, with significant variation in practice identified.
The committee has developed a Consensus Practice Recommendation to guide reporting practices, in conjunction with existing publications by the International Council for Standardization in Hematology (ICSH). This webinar will review the IQMH CPR and provide clarity on specific areas of ambiguity not directly addressed in the ICSH recommendations.
