Description: We all know as laboratory professionals how important quality management is, so now we can make self-care just as important! This fun session will relate self-care and self-compassion to various aspects of quality management. Reframing self-care in this way will help you and others you work with to accept the importance of it, and create healthier and happier individuals. Brady and Meagan will share some of their own personal stories of how they have learned to practice self-care and self-compassion, and hope to have you leave the session feeling freshly calibrated.

Course/Activity Information

At the end of this webinar you will be able to:

  • Frame self-care using terms, analogies, and stories that are relatable and unique to medical laboratory professionals.
  • Accept that self-care and self-compassion is for everyone, including you too!
  • Understand the challenges of image-based proficiency testing when building and maintaining expertise in the field.

 

Speakers: Brady Rose, BSc, MLT and Meagan Graff, BSc, MEd, MLT

Over the last few years, while balancing being a parent, spouse, MLT educator (at NAIT) and an individual Brady has made an effort to learn about self-care. She attempts to put these lessons into practice and now considers herself a recovering perfectionist.

Meagan is also a recovering perfectionist and Instructor at NAIT in the Medical Laboratory Programs.  As a mom of two boys, she has learned about the importance of self-care and self-compassion and reflects on how she has implemented this into her daily work practice.
